HEY 2013!
Wow. It's been a while...more than a while, hasn't it? How were your holidays? Good, I hope, and packed full of family, friends, and love.
Here's a little bit of what I experienced over the insanely long break that felt like it snapped by me in 2.6 seconds total. Right when the holidays were starting, I was trying to knit scarves like a crazy person (like five...which is a lot for this beginner knitter) as gifts, and then I thought I was finished with Christmas shopping way before time, but I was so completely wrong. Don't go shopping the day before...just saying!!
I loved getting to open gifts with my guy Christmas morning before we took off back home to see family, and our living room looked like a mini tornado swirled through afterwards. I was so proud of my wrapping skills, especially since I was totally terrible about a year and a half ago and used to dump items into bags without a bow...uh, and sometimes without tissue paper if I couldn't find it. It's amazing how far a little glue, ribbon, and pine cones will get you!
I managed to halfway decorate the tree, and maybe by next year I'll get the entire thing finished! Ah, well. I was meaning to show you a tutorial for those feathery balls of puff on the tree, and I even took photos for it, but I just didn't get around to making the post. I can't wait to go ahead and show you even though the new year is already here, just because I think those little white puffs would be so adorable for room decor, children's rooms, parties...you name it!
New Year's Eve was spent with amazing friends, and I can't even begin to explain how hysterical our little celebration was. We pretty much missed watching the countdown to the new year three times total (we tried to watch the ball drop in New York and forgot about the Texas time difference, we accidentally tuned in on the celebration in Mexico and missed the countdown, and then we missed the countdown in Los Angeles). Seriously. Campaign was being popped too early with everyone screaming, "Noooo!!", people were tripped over one another, confusion was exchanged everywhere, and the dog was howling. My kind of start!! :)
I didn't forget to stuff myself with chocolate, hog the warmth of the fire, enjoy dinner dates at home, explore San Antonio a little more, enjoy the scenery of the places we travelled to, and appreciate time spent with friends and family. And guess what? I even had the bright idea of making myself a mini spa night at home! Whhhyy did I not think of that before?
Needless to say, 2013 had an amazing start, and as one of my sweet readers said, I think this is going to be THE year.
Agreed?

Happy 2013 :)
Happy New Year, Danie! It's a very wonderful feeling being surrounded by family and good vibes when the new year, and a new start, rolls around!
Milynn: Exactly! Can't wait to see what 2013 brings. :)
Liz: I really don't know why it didn't come to my mind to try it earlier. Definitely have to make my mini spas every once in a while from now on.
Sarah: Thanks, dear! Couldn't agree more. We're lucky girls.
Wow, I love this photo montage! Happy New Year!
Thanks Abby! Happiest New Year to you too, sweet!
