What do you do when it's been raining all morning? You take yourself outside, watch your dog "bite" the raindrops from your chair on the patio, and take in the scents and sounds, all while sipping on chai tea, of course.
Just kidding. You don't HAVE to do all of the above...but it sure is nice.
When you come from a place where rain is rare, it's hard not to relish in it. I'm hoping it will rain into the night and maybe even thunderstorm a little. Isn't that the best way to sleep? My five-year-old self would severely disagree. After all, every time a big storm would come our way, I would gallop around the house in utter fear, squeezing my cheeks and telling my parents I hoped we wouldn't all die. Shortly afterwards, I would run to the innermost closet on the first floor of our home and lock myself in there for at least ten minutes until I was sure that the worst had passed.
Now, I open the windows when it's raining and say "ooohh, ahhh" when I see lighting and hear thunder. Don't worry, I close the windows when it's a total storm. I'm not THAT crazy / brave.
Hearing all this rumbling and pitter patter makes me think of this song by Enya. Don't call me corny.
How is it where you are?

How hilarious that your dog "bites" the raindrops. I love chai. That sounds like a perfect rainy morning =)

Haha, Danie, I can almost see your five-years old self, sooooo cute!!!
I was born and grew in Buenos Aires (good airs), and let me tell you, that state name must be Locos Aires (crazy airs) because rain and storms, came and go at any time and they can last between a few hours and several weeks!!!!
Kisses & hugs, sweetie!

Sounds like a great morning! I wish it was raining here. It's about 98 here.
I've always loved rainy days...even as kid, I wouldn't get terrified. Your five-year-old-self sounds so cute though! :) And chai teas are my favorite, I could drink them every day.
i totally agree that sleeping while it rains is the best :)
My dear Danie! The weather here is so shiny that we haven't seen the rain for a long long time! This is a bit confusing cause I spend the whole time at the beach and I don't work so hard...Excuse me for my absence...summer in Greece is so tempting!!Love to hear from you again!!
Ha! Just as I am reading this, it started to pour rain here, something incredible! Lots of wind too! It should pass quickly though.
This post makes me wish I had a porch so I could cozy up in my chair with my hot beverage and watch and smell the rain ;)
Xx.
Sarah: I know! She's so ridiculous when it comes to water (well, and everything else!). It was amazing! Hope the rain comes back soon.
Ines: Haha! I'm sure it was more annoying than cute! I guess I'll just have to check on that with my parents. :) Oh my gosh! Several WEEKS??! That's so insane. It must be beautiful, though!
Daisy: Blaaaaah. I think it's going to get back that way today. Ah, well. The heat isn't the worst, anyway.
Kyla: You were so brave! Meee too! I try to control myself.
Helen: Isn't it?? I always love it when the rain comes in the late afternoon.
Gertrude: Hi sweet! I am SO envious!!! I just saw photos of Greece from a girl that just got back from a trip there. It's too beautiful to describe. I'd be gone FOREVER in a place like that, so I don't blame you! :)
Holly: That's so funny! Hope it didn't get too crazy. Aw, so sorry! :( Maybe a little window ledge would do? :)
It's actually raining and thundering in Arizona as well!! I love the rainy days out here because it's so rare to see. It add a nice smell to it like no other!
