SHE'S ON MY MIND

Meet my sister and I from 23 years ago. Don't be jealous of our innate sense of fashion.

I am waiting (okay, very impatiently waiting) for the arrival of my big (and only) sister. She should be here in about a few hours! Can you barely make out the background in this old photo? It's an overexposed image of a gorgeous beach in the Philippines. We'll be seeing the water again this Sunday on our first-ever sister vacation, albeit a short one on a different side of the globe in Texas.

We never really fought as kids, but our relationship seems to have blossomed since I graduated college. Guess age has that effect on siblings. My husband and I have a small date planned for her short time in San Antonio, we our have hotels booked for a wedding night and beach stay, and I'm sure she'll stare me down once she realizes how much beach gear I need to load into her car. I'm leaping toward the window at every car I hear, thinking it just might be her.

Are you waiting on a visit from your sibling also?

Aw! Sisters!

I have a younger sister (she's also my only sister) and we are lucky enough to live with each other, but she's my favorite person in the world. I'm always grateful that I had a sister to grow up with! It's such a unique relationship that I hope when I have kids I have 2 girls :)

Enjoy your time together!!

Jess: That's so sweet! Aww! I'm sure she feels so lucky to have you as her big sister. I'm pretty sure I would have been bored out of my mind without my sister as a kid. She was my go-to playmate, for sure. Thank you so much! I'm just so excited! :)

Have so much fun! My twin sister and I only become closer with age! It's so much fun! My god parents daughters are quite few years older than us, but as we get older, it doesn't seem that large of a difference. We are now inseparable!

Sarah: Thank you!! We just took her out to this place called Dough last night (a GREAT Italian place known for its pizzas), and we had such a good time. I'm looking forward to this weekend! Oh, I know what you mean. I feel so much closer to my cousins, who are older than my sister and I. I can tell you're so close with Abby just through your blog. So glad you have such important relationships!! :)

Sisters are the best. I love mine and we've only gotten closer as the years have passed...and now that we have our own daughters it's like our girls have another mother. It's the most amazing feeling in the world. I hope your weekend was wonderful. x
