CALIFORNIA TRIP PART 7

Happy Friday!! Do you have anything planned for the weekend?

It's about time I stopped in again, and I thought I'd share a few more photos from San Francisco with you. Some of you had recommended us to eat at La Boulange, and after getting turned around while hunting for the bakery too many times to count, we accidentally found it across the street!

You were absolutely right...I couldn't get enough of it. Seriously. I had some of these goodies to eat:

Well...the iced tea I may or may not have stolen from my husband...along with about half of his bacon, lettuce, tomato, and avocado sandwich. Are you a frantic food thief also? And wouldn't that little table look so prettied up with a big vase of bright flowers? Not that you would have any space left to even put your food down if there were flowers...

The view was gorgeous--I sat at a built-in bar and looked out huge glass windows onto the street. The photo about is actually the same picture copied, flipped, and pushed together. Kinda weird and interesting, huh? After I finally get my things together and finish up the first Photoshop tutorial from 1.5 hundred years ago, maybe I can show you how to make this little effect.

I had too much trouble trying to decide what to eat, so I just pointed to the mini turkey, cheddar and pesto sandwich in the window. It. was. DELICIOUS. So was the Napolean dessert. As you can see, we left no survivors.

Please don't tell me we're the only nerds who actually enjoy working a little bit during vacations. The boy programmed while I drew things. Do you recognize the illustration above? It's finally finished!! If you'd like to see the final, it's the banner at  the top of Toshiko's blog called It's Not Her, It's Me. I'll show you some process drawings soon! :)

Anyway, while we worked, other people talked business as well. Others just sat and enjoyed their food and the cool air.

I loved sitting and watching people come and go. We were there for a while.

How can you resist that blue trim and the painted red base of the tables?? La Boulange is practically begging you to come back. And we did.

Fun! I had my very first Napolean this summer! Can you believe it took me that long? I was obsessed immediately. If I ever go to San Fran, I'll definitely have to try this place out!

Thanks, Sarah! You did?! :) Isn't it AWESOME?? Don't worry...I had my first only 2 years ago, and I was 23. So yeah...definitely feel glad to be on the other side and know their glory.

People watching is the best. Nothing better than wondering about others as they come & go.

Ah! Danie...I'm THE frantic food thief!!! , my hubby is resigned since we were dating, actually, when we go to a restaurant ,and he ask me if I want dessert, and I of course replied that: no, of course not! ... he ask for my favorite dessert and says that it is just for him, that he will not allow me to steal one bit ... the funny thing is that he hates the "suspiro limeño"
I love the pictures, the illustrations and the pictures with illustrations!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend, dear!

Big hugs!

Leyla: It is AMAZING! I'm pretty positive you'll fall in love. :) Hope you get to book soon! And thank you...I had a great weekend! Productive + fun is a good combination for a weekend. Hope you had a great one also!

Rosa: Hi, lovely! Thanks so much. I wasn't brave enough to take good photos of the food while I was standing in line for the fear of getting yelled at by somebody in immediate need of a donut, but I'm happy with how a lot of the shots came out. :) I was so in love with ALL of their food!

Estillo: Thank you! :) Thanks for dropping by!

E: Heeey, you changed your last name! :) I was so excited to do that (but also got confused and called myself the wrong name for such a long time!). I totally agree about the people watching...but I think I need less conspicuous by wearing sunglasses or something, ha.

Ines: Haha, good! I knew I couldn't possibly be the only thief. My husband pretty much just orders extra because he knows he has to feed the pig beside him (me, not the dog). Aw, thank you so much! I had a little too much creating them. Hope you had a wonderful weekend also!! Abrazos!
