EARLY START

I finally made a legitimate breakfast rather than shoving a granola bar down my throat while downing it with orange juice. You know what they say...breakfast is the most important meal of the day! I agree wholeheartedly.

I have to remind myself to take out extra time in the mornings. We took a walk, made food, and I even read part of a new book. I love this article by Leo Babauta from Zen Habits about the benefits of waking up early. Even though I have trouble getting into routines, I don't think it's impossible to learn how.

So, step number one: Get up earlier, Danie! You'll thank yourself.

And you?

The '10 Benefits of Rising Early' article was a pleasure to read. Thanks for posting this! I have classes at 8AM during the summer and I always feel like it's such a pain to get up in the morning! But this reminded me to enjoy the little things like eating breakfast, drinking coffee, and enjoying the beautiful view of the sunrise =)

i couldn't agree more danie! On those days when I do manage to get my butt out of bed to wake up early to eat a real breakfast and spend some time reflecting, it makes a night and day difference! Beautiful photo, looks delicious!

Donna Belle: I love Leo's writing. So glad you like it also! I know...I have a problem with dragging myself out of the sheets also. I guess it's not so bad once you get used to it. And yes! It's definitely a quiet time to enjoy all those things. :)

Melody: It really does! I never want to do it in the morning, but I usually end up thanking myself later on in the day. Thank you! It was much better than the "I-don't-care-because-I'm-late" breakfasts. :

Cathy: Thank you, sweet! I get the feeling that you're pretty good company in the morning. :)

Such a colorful breakfast! It's such a bright way to start your day. I read that an apple wakes you up as much as a cup of coffee would.

Pocket Rocket: I love it when I actually take the time for stuff like that. It really is! You know, that makes total sense. I used to drink coffee constantly, but I've finally managed to get down to a cup either once or twice a week only. I'm able to wake up a lot better on my on without its help now..well, sometimes!

Yup! Waking up early is great. I've been doing the same lately and it's amazing how much more I can accomplish in a day. It's totally worth those few painful minutes upon waking ;)

Holly: I agree..both on the productivity AND pain! :) It's worth it.

Caria: Oh, thank you! I love how you say scrummy! *added to new favorite list of words* I agree. I've seen some of the prettiest things early in the mornings. :)
